At just 24 Milly Mae has already achieved so much, including writing her own unique songs. One of her most recent successes being performing with Lemar and Beverley knight at a charity fundraising event in London.
Milly’s voice is so beautiful it gives you those goosebumps that make the hair’s on the back of your neck raise and tingle when you listen to it
I had the personal pleasure of doing Milly Mae’s make-up for a recent photo shoot…
So how did I decide on Milly’s make-up & hair?
Milly Mae is young, fun, and edgy – but still gentle… much like her voice as a soul singer. I wanted to create edgy but very beautiful make-up, embellished with a young, fun image.
Milly has beautiful big eyes and high cheek bones, these are the features that I chose to really excentuate. I perfected Milly’s skin using Chantecaille foundation and Laura Mercier secret camouflage on blemishes and beneath her eyes, creating a fresh dewy skin, but with minimal light reflection due to bright camera lights.
Milly Mae: A Kent-based singer-song writer who’s talent is relentless!

I contoured Milly’s cheeks with NARS Laguna bronzer
And MAC ambering rose blusher along the top of her cheekbones.
I chose to emphasise Milly’s eyes with a dark smokey shadow, keeping it only on her top lid and blending into the crease of her eyes, and winging it out at the side’s for a sexy seductive appearance. I kept her lower lash line free from mascara, so as not to make it too vamp, and to keep the look fresh and wide awake. I opened up Milly’s eyes further with a full set of Eyelure lashes, these are my favourite due to their lightweight flexibility.
I finished the look with Laura Mercier’s vibrant red lipstick ‘seduction’ which was actually introduced to me by singer Candy Rose

I had already curled Milly’s hair for a previous shot, and wanted to create something less ‘pretty’ and more edgy and beautiful, so I created a bouffant sweeping into a gathered editorial side bun with plenty of texture. The idea was for this to look done but undone – in a natural non-overly fixed way.
VERDICT: Glamorous & Gorgeous
